Ms. Keifer's 7th graders played an April Fools prank on her this morning, so as a part of their surface area lesson, she's "shipping them to Siberia!" They worked with partners to figure out the surface area of the box that would comfortably fit them for their trip. They could be standing, sitting, laying or however they were most comfortable. They decided they were going to ship her as well!

On Thursday, March 27, Ms. Wiltrout's 3rd Grade class participated in National Scribble Day! National Scribble Day was established to inspire creativity and encourage children to create art regardless of their artistic ability. It is based on the book "I'm Not Just a Scribble" by Diane Alber. It teaches kindness and acceptance and aims to show children that "Great art starts with just a scribble." We had so much fun with this book/activity and hope you enjoy our silly scribble characters!

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to, attended, or in any way supported our annual scholarship fundraiser! We raised over $12,500 this year for our students. We will announce scholarship winners later in the school year. We are also closing in on establishing the Coudersport Education Foundation as a 501C.3. More information will be coming on that soon. Again, THANK YOU for all that you do to support our students and contribute to their BRIGHT futures!

This week Josh Woods, from Highway Safety Network, and Scott Tidwell, from Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, visited driver education students at CHS to present five key points of sharing the road with trucks. The educational presentation included a 72' semi-truck and trailer for students to climb in and experience the truck's size, and the visual restrictions from the driver's seat! Did you know 83% of fatalities from crashes between a passenger vehicle and large truck are individuals not in the truck? Remember, it is a battle you will never win in your passenger vehicle. A special thank you to our guest speakers, and please, stay safe out there!
